Laayayda district
Laâyayda was established as an urban municipality with legal personality and financial autonomy under Decree No. 2.92.462 of June 30, 1992. In 2003, it became one of the five districts constituting the Urban Municipality of Salé.
Geographical Location
The district is located between the rural municipality of Ameur to the north and east, Hssaine District to the south, Tabriquet and Bettana Districts as well as the Atlantic Ocean to the west.
Area
The district covers an area of 27.04 km².
Population
According to the 2024 GPHC, the district has a population of 229,838 inhabitants, including 228,812 Moroccans and 1,026 foreigners, representing approximately 24% of the total population of the Municipality of Salé (945,101 inhabitants). The number of households is 57,358.
