Launching of the manifestations of the 11th edition of the international festival “Children of peace”

The 11th edition of the international festival “Children of Peace” kicked off on Monday evening, July 24, 2017 in Salé with a reception ceremony of the participating delegations. The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Abderrahmane Benali, Governor of Salé Prefecture, Mr. Jamaâ El Moâtassim, President of the Communal Council of Salé, Mr. Noureddine Chemaou, President of the The association Bouregeg, organizer of the festival with the support and coordination of various partners, local elected representatives and associative actors, was marked by performances and songs performed by children.

In his inaugural speech, Chemaou said that the festival brings together more than 600 children from more than 28 countries. This 11th edition also celebrates Africa under the theme “Edition of Africa”, in recognition of the African depth of the Kingdom, said Chemaou, noting that Africa is represented this year by 13 African countries . The speaker added that the fame of the festival has passed the limits of the city to become a regional or even national event.

Mr.El Moâtassim, for his part, confirmed the pride of the city of Salé to host this festival, which has become an annual event, which, besides the festivities, aims to create a space for dialogue between civilizations to give rise to a moment of peaceful coexistence in which linguistic and identity differences give way to coexistence, tolerance, dialogue, peace and security. The speaker also reiterated the commitment of the communal council of Salé to provide all the necessary means and create the appropriate conditions for the success of the successive editions of the festival.

The ceremony was also marked by the signing of a partnership agreement between the president of the association Bouregreg and the association of the sub-Saharan cultural and artistic community, with the aim of promoting the artistic talents of sub-Saharan Africans in order to carry out their activities in Morocco.
