Mr. Omar Senitissi conducts a site visit for the extension of the Sidi Bel Abbas cemetery in Salé

As part of the sustained efforts undertaken by the commune of Salé to enhance the infrastructure dedicated to burial and ensure the continuity of this essential service under decent conditions, Mr. Omar Sentissi, the president of the commune, commenced an on-site visit on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, to the parcel of land annexed to the Sidi Bel Abbas cemetery in Salé.

This initiative comes in execution of the decision made by the Salé communal council during its extraordinary session held on Friday, November 7, 2025, regarding the acceptance of a free donation in the form of a plot of land intended for the expansion of the Sidi Bel Abbas cemetery, bearing the land registry number 55097/20 part P1, with an area of 2842 square meters.

During this visit, the president of the commune supervised the progress of various works related to the development of the added plot of land, including soil levelling and the preparation of internal pathways, as well as the establishment of the necessary technical and organisational conditions to ensure the proper conduct of the burial process in appropriate conditions, thus preserving the sacred nature of the place and respecting the deceased.

This operation is part of a comprehensive vision adopted by the commune  to address the issue of cemeteries, pending a definitive solution for this matter in coordination and collaboration with the competent prefectural authorities, by allocating a sufficiently large area to meet current and future needs.
