Mr Omar Sentissi attends the opening ceremony of the 10th edition of the N’zaha National Melhoun Days in Salé
Celebrating the art of Melhoun as world heritage, the 10th N’zaha National Melhoun Days kicked off on Thursday evening, 6 June 2024, at the Souk Laghzal square in the ancient city of Salé.
This cultural event was organised by the Driss Belmamoune Association for Research and Creativity in the Art of Melhoun, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and the municipality of Salé, under the theme “The Art of Melhoun : An Authentic Heritage with Moroccan Depth and Global Reach”.
The opening of the session was marked by a concert dedicated to this ancestral musical genre, in the presence of the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, the Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and the Family, the representative of the Academy of the Kingdom and the representative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Secretary General of the Prefecture of Salé, the President of the Prefectural Council, the President of the Communal Council, a number of cultural, artistic and community figures, as well as a large public.
The ceremony included welcoming speeches and the honouring of a number of participants and guests.
