On 12 September 2017, Mr. Jamaâ El Moâtassim, President of the Salé commune, welcomed Mr. Li Li, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Morocco. The meeting was attended by Mr. Rachid Douibi, First Communal Vice-President, the Chief of Staff of the President and the Director General of Communal Services.

During the meeting, the two leaders exchanged views on Sino-Moroccan relations and decentralized cooperation between the two countries.

At the meeting, El Moâtassim welcomed the deep historical relations between Morocco and China in a number of areas, which have developed qualitatively following the visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to China the previous year.

Mr El Moâtassim stressed that the municipality of Salé has many qualifications in various fields and is considering developing opportunities to exploit them through partnerships, which contribute to improving their development opportunities and strengthening them further in terms of equipment and services. In this regard, he expressed the Council’s desire to open avenues for cooperation and exchange of experience in areas of common interest, particularly in the areas of tourism, investment, crafts and transport.

On its side, the Chinese Ambassador also welcomed the historic relations between the two countries, stressing the importance of the visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Republic in May 2016, marked by the signing of significant number conventions covering various fields.

In order to share and exchange their mutual experiences, Mr Li expressed the need to conclude twinning agreements and decentralized cooperation between the commune of Salé and the Chinese territorial communes, which converge in terms of strengths and specificities.

At the end of the debate, Mr Jamaâ El Moâtassim presented a souvenir gift to his excellent guest.

The Salé unified development plan was the focus of a meeting organized on Thursday, September 7, 2017, by the municipality of the city under the theme “The Salé unified development plan: horizons and expectations”, in the framework of the communal initiative “Thursday of concertation”.

Initially, the president of the communal council of the city of Salé, Jamaâ El Moâtassim, indicated that the Salé unified development plan, currently in the public investigation phase (August 25-September 25), aims to control the development the urban area of ​​the city according to a rational vision of the real estate exploitation, to create a balance between the various uses of the ground and to support the economic projects of investment, allowing the creation of job opportunities. This plan, he added, which also aims to ensure urbanization that takes into account transport needs and respect for the environment, is of great importance as a reference document for urban planning, specifying the different zones and the objectives for which they are intended.

For his part, the Director of Urban Planning and Management of the Rabat-Salé Urban Agency, Saïd Wirane, said that this development plan “will make it possible to realize a strategic vision to meet the challenges related to space competition”, adding that the plan, which “incorporates the economic component first, then the social and environmental component, thus respecting the requirements of sustainable development”, and aims to attract investors to promote job creation. Mr. Wirane recalled the prominent role of Salé by its proximity to the capital Rabat, noting that the unified management plan of the city is intended to be a realization of a strategic vision with aims of economic and social development.

The program of this meeting included four presentations focused on “The unified development plan of the city of Salé: vision and orientations”, “The development project and the urban development prospects of the city of Salé”, “The plan unified development of the city of Salé and investor expectations “and” What a proposal for the contribution of civil society to the unified development plan of the city of Salé “.

The “Thursday of consultation” initiated by the municipality of Salé aims to support participatory democracy at the local level through the holding of monthly consultation meetings around issues of local development of the city. They also aim to improve and enrich collective decision-making, through the participation of citizens in these meetings, which offer the communal council the opportunity to hear the grievances of citizens. These meetings, which take place on the first Thursday of each month, are open to citizens, local actors, civil society and the media.

In order to improve the quality of the road network, several main streets in the commune of Tabriquet have undergone a remarkable renovation following the completion of the maintenance works. These include:

• Boulevards damaged at the Yasmine subdivision;
• Bd « Harhoura » located at Hay Inbiât ;
• Bd “Aïn Jamâa” Hay Frougui Seghir;
• Bd “Fkih ben Saleh” in the direction of Ibn Haytham Hay Inbiât;
• Bd « My Abdelkader » Hay Inbiât .

The President of the Tabriquet District Council, Karima Boutkhil, chaired the closing ceremony of the first local urban camping organized by the Council, in coordination with the “Rouad” association of Education and Holiday Colonies, Under the theme “Morocco Heart of Africa” on the occasion of the summer holidays, for the period from 30 July to 08 August 2017.

Speaking at the ceremony, the president stressed the positive role of camping in citizenship education through the acquisition of a set of values ​​besides constituting an entertainment station. She also noted the exceptional work of all parties involved in the success of this first session, either by providing the appropriate space in an educational institution or by the deliberate educational program, as well as providing all necessary means . The ceremony also saw the distribution of gifts in the form of school entrance clothes to children enjoying the campsite.

This closing ceremony was attended by representatives of the Regional Directorate of National Education for Vocational Training and Higher Education, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the “Rouad” Association for Education and Holiday Colonies, Hakom Tourism Travel Company; as well as certain contributing personalities, borough officials and a public of beneficiary students.

Within the framework of the environmental program “Together for Salé to be a clean city”, and of coordination with the commune of Salé and “Ozone” company, the Council of Laâyayda district supervised the project aiming at the elimination of the sites of blackheads of waste of construction/demolition and the household refuse at the sector “Annahda” near the borough’s headquarters, at the avenue “Aviation Project Al Hadika”, at the avenue “Mohammed V” and close to the high school qualifying “Ahmed Chawki”.
