Al Assima unanimously adopts the delegated management contract for public urban transport by bus at the Rabat Salé Témara agglomeration

After the selection of the group Alsa and City Bus Transport as a future bus operator at the Rabat-Salé-Témara agglomeration, the board members of the Al Assima Inter-communal Institution unanimously adopted on Wednesday 25 July 2018, the contract delegated management of urban transport currently provided by Stareo. During the first year of the start of the contract, it is planned to commission a fleet of 350 new buses to reach 430 units after eight years of operation. This effort will be supported by 150 million DH to be mobilized by the delegating authority, equivalent to the acquisition of 100 buses. The price of the ticket is fixed at 5 DH during the first four years of operation to go thereafter to 5.5 DH before reaching 6 DH during the last years of the contract whose duration is 15 years with possibility of extension for 7 years.

For the personal part, the new operator is expected to recruit around 1,607 employees currently working with Stareo, while retaining their vested rights on the date of entry into force of the contract.

The delegatee also undertakes to provide additional human resources when needed and to set up training programs, while the delegated authority undertakes to finance the development of corridors specially dedicated to buses.
